Privileged Intents and Data Access

Our app requires specific Discord Privileged Intents to provide its core functionality. Here's exactly what each intent allows us to access and why:

Presence Intent (GUILD_PRESENCES)

  • What it accesses: Real-time updates when users change their Discord status, custom status messages, activity information, and online/offline status.

  • Why we need it: This is the core of our app's functionality. We monitor status changes to automatically assign roles when users set specific custom status messages.

  • What we do with it: Process status messages to match against configured role assignments, track status duration for time-based roles, and log status changes when enabled.

  • What we DON'T do: We don't track personal activity details, monitor private conversations, or store unnecessary presence data.

Guild Members Intent (GUILD_MEMBERS)

  • What it accesses: Server member list, member join/leave events, member roles, and basic profile information (username, discriminator, avatar).

  • Why we need it: Essential for role management operations, permission verification, and processing new member joins for automatic role assignment.

  • What we do with it: Manage role assignments, verify user permissions for admin commands, and process member events for status-based functionality.

  • What we DON'T do: We don't store personal profile information permanently or share member data across servers.

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected Data:

  • Discord User IDs: Unique identifiers for users and servers

  • Status Information: Custom status messages that match configured strings

  • Role Data: Current roles and role assignment history

  • Timestamps: When status changes occur and roles are assigned

  • Server Configuration: App settings configured by server administrators

  • Usage Analytics: Command usage patterns (anonymized)

Data We Don't Collect:

  • Personal messages or private conversations

  • Voice chat content or recordings

  • Personal information beyond Discord profile data

  • Financial or payment information (handled by Discord)

  • Location data or device information

  • Data from servers where the app is not invited

How We Use Your Information

Primary Functions:

  • Automatic role assignment based on status

  • Time-based role management

  • Status change logging and alerts
